Fourteen months ago, Isaiah Thomas finished fifth in the NBA’s MVP voting. Repeat that out loud. Remind yourself that it’s a true statement. Because the way things have gone since that time, it’s almost impossible to believe.

Yet here we are. Just over a year after averaging 28.9 ppg and leading to the Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals, Thomas has joined the Nuggets on a one-year, $2 million contract.
