If you haven’t yet watched Ja Morant, Murray State’s star sophomore point guard, you’d be forgiven. The 6-3 guard has put up incredible numbers — 25 points and over 5 rebounds per game, with an assist rate of 51%, a rate so high that it has been eclipsed only once in the last 14 seasons — but he’s done so in the obscurity of the Ohio Valley Conference. And until this past Saturday’s OVC championship game, Morant and Murray State hadn’t beaten a KenPom top 100 team all season.
